Only a few months left until Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins welcome their third daughter into the world.
On Sunday (January 5), Akins posted a series of photos on Instagram from a surprise trip her husband gifted her ahead of having the baby. Akins and her best friend enjoyed a few days away soaking up the warm Florida sunshine in Key West.
"Throwback to the week before Christmas when my hubby of the year sent me and my bestie down to Key West for a super last minute babymoon," Akins wrote in the caption.
Rhett and Akins first shared the news that they were expecting a baby in July with a post to social media. "Excited to share that I will now be paying for 3 weddings" Rhett wrote alongside an adorable family photo. "I feel so blessed to say that our third child is on the way and it's a girl!"
Since then the family's kept busy as they prepare to become a family of five. Rhett recently revealed his goals for the new year, most of which revolve around his family. He says having two daughters and a baby on the way has changed his priorities and helped him realize what's truly important in life. Things that he once worried about, he doesn't give much attention anymore.
"It's been really life giving to kind of not care about things I used to care about," he explains, adding, "But that and just more like living presently, and I know that's a lot of people's resolutions but really just trying to like live for that day only, because you really don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow."
In 2020 Rhett will hit the road for his "The Center Point Road Tour" featuring opening acts, Cole Swindell and Hardy. The trek, in support of his Center Point Road album, will kick off on May 29 in Gilford, NH with dates running through the end of August. Tickets for the "Center Point Road Tour" go on sale Friday, January 24 2020.
